With three sports to train for, early starts take on a whole new meaning. Morning rides don’t just start before the sun comes up, they start sometimes when there is still more night left than there isn’t. And it’s dark, really, really dark. So the lights on my bike need to be effective and reliable.
I moved to the Gemini Xera light as it was both lightweight and robust. With three different brightness modes, I am able to start on high and gradually reduce the levels as the sun starts to peak above the horizon. It offers an easy, flexible mounting system that means I can switch between the bars on my time trial bike and the ones on my road bike in just seconds. Depending on the mode, there’s between 4 and 17 hours of battery life before needing to recharge.
The additional fixtures means it easily converts to a head mount making it ideal for early morning transition runs, getting an entire training session over before the sun is up.
